Day 6 Back To The Begining :)

This twitter message http://bit.ly/YvOwW made me realize that

a. posted maybe the wrong way the last 6 days

b. didn't do a good job to explain my thought process in the beginning.



Well, maybe I can remedy one of them.





1. After choosing the beach wedding niche from the pdf I looked at the related searches; and the one that stood out was " beach wedding invitations".

I have some experience with affiliate sites that utilize datafeeds and wedding invitations are definitely something people will order over the internet.

2. Competition:





Looking at Googles first page results - there are a lot of established domain names ( one exception - so there is hope)

























but again drilling down further - the related results show another term " palm tree wedding invitations "

A lot of individual product pages shown ( btw. this screenshot is kind of stupid :) - since my sites are already ranking for the term after 6 days - jsut pretend there not there - should have done this earlier )

(still a good amount of adwords advertiser shown )

















Looking at Googles external Keyword tool.

Not the greatest volume in the world- but at $1.18 aberage cpc obvioulsy a desired term.

Quick math : If I can dominate the first page for this term - I assume I can get anywhere from 300-500 clicks a month.

I emailed the merchant at the average order size is around $100.00 - at 10% commission that works out as follows:

300 clicks - 1% conversion - $30/month
300 clicks - 2% conversion - $60/month
300 clicks - 3 % conversion - $90/month

That's on the low side of 300 clicks - so going forward will try to rank as many properties as possible and track the amount of visitors.

Next would be to track conversions and test maybe different layouts etc.

Final :

$90 / month don't seem a lot but it's for one term only and in time I think the site can rank for many more related terms. Once it has established enoufh authority and we can rank for ' beach wedding invitations' then the whole math changes ( over 22k searches a months )
